Do I have to be a member on DateME Kenya to use the site and speak to other members?

Yes, we are a members-only website. You will have to sign up to one of our Premium Chui or VIP Simba membership packages to speak to any member.  When you are a subscribed member then you will have full access to the site and its members, as well as all the other cool features like the info forum, DateME ideas, events, dates of the week, and special discounts from local companies.

Our packages have been designed so that everyone will find one that suits them best. Join us and meet someone amazing today!

What is the difference between the Premium Chui and VIP Simba memberships?

Both are similar and both give full access to the site, the VIP Simba has extra features (see list below). It has been designed for people who wish to keep a bit more private and be the true king/queen of the urban jungle/savannah.

  • Invisibility/Incognito: Stay private by hiding your last login and keeping your viewing private.
  • Hide your profile: You can hide your profile from other members except your chosen favourites. So no one will be able to view your profile unless you have chosen them as one of your favourites.
  • Hide your pictures: Hide your pictures from other members except your favourites.
  • Priority customer service
  • Free one-to-one advice to ensure you make the most of your membership

Is online dating safe?

The quick answer is YES! There is no big difference to ordinary dating. The nicest thing about online dating is the easy access to so many more people and the fact that you can decide who you talk to when you want to. You can spend hours, days, weeks, month communicating with potential dates before you even contemplate meeting up.

You must still take the usual precautions you would in your day-to-day life, never reveal any private or personal information. All the personal details such as full name and email addresses you provide to DateME Kenya are NOT featured on your profile and will be kept safe and secure. We do all we can to keep the site full of genuine, fun, professional people. I'm worried about what kind of people use the site?

We are a members-only website. This allows us to eliminate all the jokers from the pack and only allow genuine people access to the site. We personally approve every new member and check that they pass the high benchmark set by DateME Kenya. If we ever find anything suspicious then the person will not be accepted.

We have also made it easy for YOU to report any member stepping out of line; we DO NOT tolerate anyone asking for money in any form, soliciting sex or abuse. Anyone doing so will be instantly banned and no refund given!

What do you do with my personal information? Bank Info?

All your personal details like your email address, phone number or full name that you give to are always kept confidential and never revealed to any 3rd parties.

No one at will ever have access to your bank or card details. We do not handle or store this type of information. When paying for your membership you pay through a safe and secure server that will take a one time payment and you will not be re-charged unless you choose to renew.

How do I pay and will you re-charge me?

After you have chosen the membership package you want, you will be prompted for payment through our secure payment server and given several options. Select the payment option you prefer and simply enter your details. This will be a one-time payment and you will then receive a confirmation email confirming your membership.

After your membership has ended it will not be automatically renewed. We let you decide if you want to renew your membership and will email you a friendly remider prior to your membership ending.

I don’t know what to write about myself on my profile?

Don’t worry… Lots of people find this part a bit of a pain, but the important thing to remember is that you can say what you want, as long as its all true of course! Keep things positive and talk about things you like, tell a funny story that’s happened to you. Below is a list of things you can write about...

  • What you like (Clubbing, restaurants, adventure, travelling)
  • Pet-hates
  • What you’re looking for in a partner
  • What you’re most proud of (e.g. climbing Mt Kenya)
  • Your best qualities
  • Hobbies and interests
  • Your dream Kenyan safari
  • Talk about what you love about Kenya or your home country

Whatever you do make sure it’s all true and keep it fun. Stay away from being too negative. Try and stand out, profiles that are positive and full of life usually get the most attention.

If I cancel my membership will I receive a refund?

All sales are final. If you purchase a membership and then later decide not to want it any more then we do not offer a refund. You can delete your account, but no refund will be given.

Can I transfer my membership to a friend?

Memberships are NON-transferable for security reasons. Sorry.

How long does it take to approve my profile, pictures etc?

We work around the clock to make sure profiles, picture etc. are approved as soon as possible. Our general guideline is that we ask you to give us 24-hours for profile approval and between 24/48 hours for pictures. It’s usually within a few hours though!

I can’t upload a photo?

Please make sure your picture is the correct size (not too big and not too small). In most cases the picture is too large and you need to resize it. If you don’t know how to do this then email us the picture and we will do our best to help.

Also be sure it’s in a jpg, gif or png format.
